Antony Kamau, President of the Kenyans in Queensland Association, recently attended the highly regarded International Leadership Summit (ILS) 2025 held in Orlando, Florida, USA. This year’s theme, “The Changing of the Guard,” struck a powerful chord with attendees, particularly in communities focused on renewal, leadership, and growth.

The three-day event brought together global thought leaders and changemakers, offering attendees a front-row seat to conversations shaping the future of leadership. Among the high-profile speakers were Bishop T.D. Jakes of The Potter’s House, entrepreneur and author John Hope Bryant, Wall Street veteran Carla Harris, Pastor Steven Furtick, and Mellody Hobson, Co-CEO and President of Ariel Investments and former Chair of Starbucks. Other distinguished speakers included Dr. Cindy Trimm, Dr. Joel Tudman, Lambert Gates, and Dr. Myron Rolle—a pediatric neurosurgery fellow and former Florida State football star.

Mr. Kamau described the summit as “transformational,” noting that the general sessions and focused breakout discussions provided not only inspiration but also actionable strategies for community leadership. The summit also offered invaluable networking opportunities, reinforcing a shared commitment to leadership excellence across borders.

Returning to Queensland, Mr. Kamau brings with him renewed energy, bold ideas, and a strengthened vision for the Kenyan diaspora. His participation underscores the rising influence and dedication of Kenyan leadership in Australia and signals exciting new directions for community empowerment.

As the association looks ahead, members can expect to see initiatives and programs shaped by the insights gained at ILS 2025. Kamau’s representation at the summit is not only a proud milestone for Kenyans in Queensland but a reflection of the community’s growing role on the global stage.
